Securing a federal tax credit could be crucial towards a wind turbine manufacturer deciding to invest heavily in several upstate cities including Buffalo, resulting in as many as 15,000 new jobs created in those municipalities.
So says Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand who is working with the Department of Treasury to secure incentives through its 1603 Program for the Washington-based D’Arcinoff Group. The D’Arcinoff Group is considering opening as many as 15 plants that will help build wind turbines.
Under consideration are sites in Buffalo, Syracuse, Rochester and Ogdensburg. D’Arcinoff Group typically buys older manufacturing plants, rehabs them and renovates them for its manufacturing operations.
