Eight percent of North Texans are out of work, but a Democratic gubernatorial candidate says he has a plan to change that.

Farouk Shami outlined his economic plan during an appearance in Dallas Tuesday morning. The Houston hair care mogul says he will use state funds to create 150,000 new jobs.

“I want to open a solar panel factory in every poor community through the state,” he said. “We will install the solar panels on homes, and guess what? We don’t want any dollars up front.”Read Full Article
