Paterson signs “green jobs” bill, announces grants

Gov. David Paterson signed the Green Jobs/Green New York bill on Tuesday, creating a state program that offers specialized training and energy-efficient jobs to low-income residents.

Gov. David Paterson signed the Green Jobs/Green New York bill on Tuesday, creating a state program that offers specialized training and energy-efficient jobs to low-income residents.

The program will also extend loans to homeowners, businesses and non-profit groups who take steps to make their property more “green.”

“The workforce training that this bill supports will prepare New Yorkers to find jobs in the 21st century clean energy economy that we are building here in New York,” Paterson said in a statement.Read Full Article
