Markell: Federal energy funds will help save jobs, reduce energy use

U.S. Department of Energy Secretary Steven Chu announced Sept. 24 that Delaware will receive $9,593,500 in funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act to support energy efficiency and conservation activities.

Under the Department of Energy’s Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant program, the state will implement programs that lower energy use, reduce carbon pollution and create green jobs locally.

Gov. Jack Markell said the funding will help the state’s economy by creating jobs and will help Delaware families by reducing their monthly energy bills.Read Full Article
