How does a low-carbon economy create more jobs

The climate change problem is currently in the hands of the government, research community and a few risk-taking private ventures. A price on carbon enabled by a cap and trade mechanism is a powerful incentive for the private sector to get involved. Three years ago the burgeoning market for emission reduction projects overseas took me to SE Asia. I was hired to work on projects that reduce GHG emissions in the agriculture sector.

Three years ago the burgeoning market for emission reduction projects overseas took me to SE Asia. I was hired to work on projects that reduce GHG emissions in the agriculture sector. Large agricultural operations in SE Asia supply timber, palm oil, starch, rice and other agricultural products to the rest of the world. While the world has checked the impact of agriculture on rainforests, GHG emissions from waste disposal techniques in these operations have gone on unchallenged.Read Full Article
