Bill Ritter was joined today at RRCC by leaders in education and energy to announce two new educational tools that will help strengthen Colorado’s clean energy workforce: a community college green jobs certificate and a green jobs guidebook. RRCC President Michele Haney, CCCS President Nancy McCallin, Green Advantage spokesperson Claudine Schneider, and RRCC students currently enrolled in the program also spoke at the event.

“Today’s announcements continue to demonstrate how we in Colorado are preparing our workforce for the kind of New Energy Economy jobs that will lead our state forward,” Gov. Ritter said during an announcement ceremony at Red Rocks Community College. “We’ve established Colorado as a national model because of initiatives like these, because we’re inventing a new energy future and new economic future for people all across the state.”
The new community colleges certificate program, “Green Advantage” will teach the latest in green construction practices and technologies. Colorado’s certificate program is the first of its kind in the country and will serve as a national template for how to prepare and credential workers in green building.
