Governor David Paterson Tuesday signed the Green Jobs/Green New York Act, establishing a program that will create green jobs and stimulate investment in weatherization and energy efficiency improvements for residential and commercial buildings.
Governor David Paterson Tuesday signed the Green Jobs/Green New York Act, establishing a program that will create green jobs and stimulate investment in weatherization and energy efficiency improvements for residential and commercial buildings.
The governor has set a goal to meet 45 percent of the state’s electricity needs through energy efficiency and renewables by 2015. He said his new legislation is an important tool to achieve those energy and economic goals.
The law will create, among other things, some 14,000 jobs, said Assemblyman Kevin Cahill, chairman of the Assembly Energy Committee.Read Full Article
